Camp Overview
Each camp will be a fun, creative adventure with words. Explore all of the elements of writing and self-expression while making new friends. This summer you will: write plays, jokes, poetry; make books; and finish the summer with an author party, performance and/or exhibition of your work.

Kids Camps (ages 8 and up)

“Picture Your Words” with Dana Berro and TBA
July 7 to 11 – one-week camp
This camp will use art as the inspiration for creative writing, as well as transform wiring into artwork. Students will explore mediums such as illustration, book-making, painting, drawing and more.
Weekdays 10 am to 3 pm at the Red Brick Center for the Arts, Aspen
Tuition $250

“Adventure and Storytelling” with Tom Alpern
July 14 to July 25 — two-week camp
Calling all spies, assassins, detectives and explorers...this camp will have all your friends envying your wild outdoor and writing adventures at the Roaring Fork Club in Basalt.
Weekdays 9 am to 12 noon at the Roaring Fork Club, Basalt
Tuition $300

“The Art of Books and Words” with Jordan Dann and Deb Jones
July 28 to August 1 — one-week camp
Turn your poems into paintings, your short story into collage and your writing into pastels. This special all-day camp features mornings of writing and afternoons of art and bookmaking.
Weekdays 9 am to 4 pm at the Wyly Community Arts Center, Basalt
Tuition $300 plus $30 materials fee

“Fantastic Stories” with Dorothy Donohue
August 11 to August 15 – one-week camps
Read your stories out loud and turn your ideas into your own book alongside a real author and illustrator.
Weekdays 9 am to 11:30 am/Ages 6 to 8
Weekdays 1 pm to 3:30 pm/Ages 9 to 12
