Ages
The recommended age range for the kids camp is 8 to 12. The children write daily and must be able to work independently for 30 to 45 minutes at a time. Our “Workshop for Young Writers” which is part of Aspen Summer Words is for teenagers ages 14 to 18.

Schedule
Please refer to individual camps for dates and times. Each camp takes place weekdays during a one-week or two-week summer session. We offer both half-day camps as well as full-day camps.

Locations
We are pleased to offer camps in Aspen, Basalt and Snowmass. Our Aspen camps are held both at the Red Brick Center for the Arts. Our Basalt camps are held at the Roaring Fork Club the Wyly Community Art Center and Anderson Ranch Art Center.

Tuition includes instruction, notebooks, pencils, snacks and small prizes.

Scholarships
A limited number of half-tuition scholarships are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Scholarships do not cover materials fee. To apply, send a letter explaining your financial need, along with a completed application and a half-tuition payment. Your payment will be held as a deposit, and will not be processed until you are notified of your registration and scholarship status.

Cancellation Policy
Request for refunds must be submitted by mail or fax to the Aspen Writers’ Foundation. A cancellation fee of half-tuition will be charged for refund requests received on or before 30 days prior to the start of the workshop. No refunds will be given after that date.

Pets
Pets are not allowed at camp.
